Workplace Benefits
NPCE strongly believes that a skilled workforce will always result in increased economic productivity. During current economic times, skills and education are seen as the most important elements of the employ-ability and income potential of a candidate. Recently the economy has shifted to one that values an educated workforce rather than an uneducated workforce. Current employers seek both educated and skilled workers. NPCE has realized a recent increase in demand for continuing education, and has in reply created a program designed for the phlebotomist.
Continuing education helps employers retain better Phlebotomists while remaining as competitive as ever. A more educated phlebotomist will always be more productive, so companies
have now started hiring phlebotomists who are continuing with their education. Continuing education can be seen as a way to retain the better, more educated phlebotomists.
NPCE virtual online course is aimed at extending a phlebotomist’s knowledge beyond the formal years of their education.
Businesses that offer professional development often have a strong track record for phlebotomist retention. In fact, phlebotomists cite continuing education programs as the No. 2 reason they stay in their jobs, said Susan Porter Robinson of the Washington, D.C.-based American Council on Education.
NPCE strongly urges that in a recession companies should either implement or step up continuing education programs especially if layoffs are present. The reason being the employees who remain take on new responsibilities, and they’re going to need new skills for their revised job descriptions.
A December 2007 Phlebotomy study conducted by the Society for Human Resource Management and the Career Journal, an online section of The Wall Street Journal, found that 44 percent of U.S. medical companies offer some kind of professional development.
NPCE services the phlebotomy field nationwide by providing online continuing education for all medical fields that utilize phlebotomists. Through our extensive research NPCE found organizations that have phlebotomists who participate in a continuing education program at least once a year are the top phlebotomists of the organization.
Don’t waste any more time and money working with phlebotomists who are not educated in the latest technology, and procedures, contact NPCE to find out how to provide a quality continuing education program for all of your phlebotomists.
